Terms of Service

What CafeCounter is

CafeCounter, available at https://cafecounter.store, is a web-based point-of-sale application for cafes and small restaurants: a touch-ready POS for dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders, tables and reservations, menu and customer management, staff accounts, and sales reporting. It is currently operated as an independent project, not (yet) a registered business entity in the Philippines. These terms are between you and the person operating CafeCounter.

Your account

You create an account with an email and password, or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for what happens under your account. An account belongs to a business, and a business can have staff accounts with different roles (owner, manager, cashier) and different levels of access.

You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it reasonably up to date.

Plans and pricing

CafeCounter has a Free plan and a Pro plan at ₱249 per month. Free includes up to 20 menu items, 15 menu photos, 15 tables, 100 customers, the owner plus 1 staff account, the last 30 days of order history, and preset color themes. Pro removes those limits and adds offline selling, sales reports, expense tracking, CSV export, printable and shareable receipts, GCash and Maya reference numbers, a daily sales email, and a custom accent color.

The current limits and features are shown on the pricing section and in Settings, and may change over time. If they do, the change applies going forward, not retroactively to a period you already paid for.

Billing and renewal

Pro is billed through PayPal as a recurring subscription. It renews automatically every month until you cancel it. If a payment fails, Pro features stop until the payment is resolved in PayPal.

Cancelling

You can cancel Pro at any time from Settings. Cancelling stops future billing and moves your account back to the Free plan immediately, not at the end of the period you already paid for. See the Refund Policy for what happens to a payment you've already made.

Acceptable use

Use CafeCounter for running your own business. Don't use it for anything illegal, don't try to break into other businesses' accounts or data, and don't attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service in a way that harms it for other users.

Availability and offline selling

CafeCounter is provided on a best-effort basis. We don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free.

On Pro, the POS can keep taking orders while your internet connection is down, as long as the device has signed in online at least once. On Free, charging an order needs a connection. Offline sales are kept on that device, at the price shown when they were rung up, and sync to your account once you're back online. Reports and settings need a connection. Offline selling is a convenience, not a guarantee against data loss in every situation: clearing the browser's data or losing the device before it syncs can lose those sales. Keep your own records of anything critical (for example, exported sales data).

Suspending or ending an account

We can suspend or close an account that is used abusively, fraudulently, or in a way that breaks these terms, or where payment has failed and stayed unresolved after a reasonable notice period.

No warranty, limited liability

CafeCounter is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent allowed by law, the operator of CafeCounter is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (like lost sales or lost data) arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the product changes. If a change is significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let existing customers know (for example, by email or a notice in the app).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines.
